Recently, my car started not cranking when I would turn over the key, because the security light on the dash would come on. I would have to wait a few minutes until the light goes off then it would crank, after a few days of this, it would not crank at all. I have checked fuses, new battery, starter, etc and nothing seems to help. The key does have a chip in it, so I am not sure if it is that or maybe the ignition, or maybe the security module??? Anyone have any suggestions other than taking it to the dealership?

anytime that the security light comes on my car wont start. once it has sat up for a while and the lihjt does not come on then the car will start. how can i fix that?

I have a 2000 Honda Civic LX and recently my car’s alarm system stopped working. I can lock the car using my remote but it doesn’t make any noise when doing so. It used to but now it stopped. The dashboard security light also stopped blinking. It now just lights up and stays lit. Anyone know what the problem could be?

sometimes when i turn the key the security light will stay on and it wont start. if i leave the key on ign and wait, eventually the light will turn off and it will start. sometimes the light will turn on while driving with no noticeable changes. iv allready changed the ign switch and it worked for a while. it doesent matter if the eng is hot or cold.

I am having security lights- with a motion detector that trips the light for 20 seconds- installed on the outside of my home. Should I get the electrician to install them on a switch that I can turn on and off? Is there any reason I wouldn’t put them on a switch, (it does cost more to wire that way). I just don’t want to have to get it done later if it is best for them to be on a switch.

went to start car and both lights in check engine light on and security light blinking car stuck in park
the car is a 92 buick lesabre very low miles, new alternator, battery fine . has been running great. seems like car thinks I am trying to steal it.

My husband and I got a 2004 monte carlo back in January. The car came with no owners manual so now that the security light comes on every now and again, I have no idea what it indicates. I have tried looking on here to find the manual but have been very unsuccessful and not even sure of where to buy one at. So any information anyone can give me would be a big help. Thank you in advance!

I noticed a security light coming in on my dashboard the other day. After about two days my car wouldn’t start. I changed the battery and put on a new one. The car still don’t start at all. No engine sound either. (2003 Oldsmobile Alero) I think it is the starter.
It didn’t make a sound. It didn’t even click. The lights came on the dash. No engine sound at all.

Hi, can someone please tell me if a 95 grand am have a security light and where can I find it. My car will turn over but won’t start. People keep telling me to check the security light. I know nothing about cars or even where to find the security light. I’ve never even seen that light before. I sounds like its out of gas but I know its not. Can someone please help.
